On the opposite side, we’ve got tanzanite, which is one that’s either a blue, a violet, or a purple.
This is one that’s very exotic, and there is but one place that has been found, and that is near mount Kilimanjaro. The uniqueness of this is why a lot of people are interested in this.
Tiffany named this type of stone in honor of Tanzania, which is where it was first found back in 1967. It’s one that does show a variety of different colors when you polish it and in certain directions that one can view it. That means that a lot of fashion cutters can create gems that come in either a bluish violet, or even a violet type of color, depending on the type of weight that they wish to keep with this.
The specific location of tanzanite in where it’s found, is in merelani, and that’s located within northern Tanzania. The person credited with this is a Masai tribesman named Ali Juuuyawatu, who found this first crystal.

Usually, people want to get the tanzanite that’s either a violet blue, or a bluish violet, but more paler types are what’s normally found when looking for finding tanzanite naturally.
